Cheshire Phoenix names new Principal Partner

Cheshire Phoenix have unveiled leading North West law firm Hillyer McKeown as the club’s Principal Partner for the 2016/17 season.

The deal will see Hillyer McKeown increase its financial commitment to the British Basketball League team and become the main shirt sponsor.

The firm, which has offices in Chester, Liverpool, Wirral and North Wales, will also continue to act as the club’s official legal partner advising the club on employment contracts and all other legal aspects of the business.

Hillyer McKeown has been a long-standing supporter of the Phoenix which last week narrowly missed out on winning a place in the BBL Play-Off Final at London’s 02 Arena.

The Phoenix and Hillyer Mckeown’s long term relationship has helped the club successfully deliver the Hoops4Health programme across Cheshire West,Chester and Warrington.

James Brice, General Manager of the Cheshire Phoenix, said: “This is absolutely fantastic news for the Phoenix. We are extremely proud of the relationship we have with Hillyer Mckeown and with their increased sponsorship this helps us grow as a club on the court and engage more with the local community off it.”

Richard Burnett, Partner at Hillyer McKeown, said: “The Phoenix have had an excellent first season in their new home at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village. They have shown that they are not only excellent on the court but also off it where they give so much back to the local community.

“We had no hesitation in agreeing to become the Phoenix’s Principal Partner. Everyone at the firm is looking forward to playing a part in the continued growth and success of the club.”

Hillyer McKeown provides its clients with a comprehensive range of business and personal legal services as well as a number of complementary business services.
