Wolves jump into the last four of the Trophy

Cheshire Phoenix 90-97 Worcester Wolves (24-22, 41-40, 63-67)

Worcester Wolves advanced to another Semi-Final this season as they pulled away from Cheshire Phoenix for a win on the road.

The two teams will meet again in the BBL Cup Final in two weeks time with Wolves gaining a possible early psychological advantage.

Leading scorers – Gettys 31, Sandoval 12, Riley 11 (Phoenix) – Navajas 20, Ojo 19, Bachynski 16 (Wolves)

Turning point – The game was back and forth for much of the opening three quarters, but Wolves made their move in the fourth as they put together an important 10-2 run late on.

Key stat – Worcester were very effective inside the arc, shooting 61% as a team, whilst making 21 of their 23 attempts from the line to help secure the win.

Game hero(es) – Alejandro Navajas posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead another balanced attack from the Wolves. Mike Ojo had 19 off the bench with George Beamon returning from injury, while Phoenix captain Orlan Jackman was sidelined
