Esh Group Eagles Newcastle bounced back from Friday’s Trophy exit as they maintained their title challenge in the BBL Championship with victory away at Cheshire Phoenix.
The game was evenly poised ahead of the final minute, but the Eagles finished strong to move to a 13-3 record.

Turning point – Newcastle seemingly took control with a 7-0 run in the fourth before the home side responded in kind to level at 72-72 inside the final two minutes. However, Jamal Williams hit a big corner three before the Eagles were able to close out the win.
Game hero(es) – Jaysean Paige top scored in the win with a game-high 23 points, while Jamal Williams weighed in with an important 18 points including the go-ahead triple in the final minute.
