Following the announcement last week of James Brice joining the coaching staff as assistant coach, The Phoenix are pleased to announce that James will also take on the new full-time role of General Manager for the forthcoming 2015/2016 season.

James, who hails from Ellesmere Port, graduated from the University of Worcester with a Sports Business Management Degree and has all the skills and assets to help take the Community Club forward in this new exciting and challenging role.

He already has an impressive Basketball CV as Academy Manager at Hereford Sixth Form College Basketball Academy as well as being involved with Team Birmingham U18 men’s coaching staff and has previously coached for the Worcester Wolves Academy and the University of Worcester whilst studying for his business degree.

James, a lifelong Cheshire fan, said “I am incredibly honoured and extremely excited to become part of the Management & Coaching Team at The Phoenix and I am more than ready to take up the challenge of taking the club forward, off and on the court, as we move into our new arena”.

Phoenix Chairman Mike Burton said. “I am delighted to have James on board. In the past I have taught and coached him at national level and in international tournaments when he was one of my pupils. He has a passion for the sport and for our club in particular, and this applied with his knowledge of business in sport and his head for business will be instrumental in taking us forward as we move to a brand new venue at Cheshire Oaks Arena at Ellesmere Port Sports Village.”
