Cheshire Phoenix offer up game tickets for Sport Relief fundraisers

Charity fund raisers who take part in next month’s Sport Relief Mile at Ellesmere Port Sports Village on March 20 are being offered a free seat at Cheshire Phoenix ’s BBL home game against Sheffield Sharks later that day.

The club has joined forces with Brio Leisure to support Sport Relief, the biennial charity event which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world’s poorest countries.

To qualify for a free ticket charity supporters need to take part in one of three Sport Relief challenges available. Competitors can either walk, jog or run one mile; take part in a three-mile challenge or push themselves to the next level over six miles.

Kerry Graham, Brio’s Facility Manager at Ellesmere Port said: “It’s an event that everybody can take part in, and we want to see as many people there as possible! All children and families are welcome to support those taking part too, and we’ll be running some extra challenges, prize giveaways and class demonstrations as well.”

The Sport Relief Mile takes place on the athletics track at Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Sunday, 20 March(10am).

James Brice, general manager at Cheshire Phoenix added: “The club is delighted to support the fund raising activities and as an added incentive we thought that all those who take part in the mile, three mile or six-mile challenge and raise money for Sport Relief should be given a pat on the back by coming along to watch our games against Sheffield.”
