Cheshire Phoenix are delighted to announce the addition of 6’7 American forward Maurice Lewis-Briggs and 6’4 guard Jawad Adekoya.
Lewis-Briggs joins the club from T71 Dudelange in Luxembourg where he was averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds per game. He also played in Georgia during the 2015-16 season where he averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds per game in the Georgia Superleague.
Adekoya, who holds a British passport, joins the club straight from Chicago State Cougars where he spent 2 years. Maurice and Jawad will both make their debut this coming Sunday at the Cheshire Oaks Arena vs Sheffield Sharks.
Phoenix Head Coach Colin O’Reilly stated, “The ceilings we had for the group at the start of the season haven’t really been reached so we’ve made adjustments. We have been one of the top sides offensively but it is the other end where we have struggled and it is something that we needed to address. We are very excited to see the new guys in action and hopefully add one more.”
