07 APR 2017: FLYERS 91-78 PHOENIX

Bristol move back into the Play-Off mix

BBL Championship

Bristol Flyers 91 (20,41,67) (Cosby 24, Ali 18, Vigor/Boggs/Edozie 11)
Cheshire Phoenix 75 (21,36,53) (Brown 24, DiNunno 16, Allen-Jordan 15)

Bristol Flyers moved back into the Play-Off places with a 91-78 victory at home to Cheshire Phoenix.

Aaron Cosby poured in 24 points to lead the Flyers to the win in part one of a weekend double-header between the two teams.

The home side also had 18 points from Hameed Ali with three other players all adding 11 points apiece – including forward Daniel Edozie, who had double-double after pulling down 10 boards.

It was Cheshire who edged a tight opening period before Bristol moved ahead in the second to take a four-point lead into the half-time break.

The game remained close for much of the third until a 8-0 finish put the Flyers up 14 as Cosby connected twice from downtown in the burst.

However, Cheshire hit back with a 7-0 start to the fourth and they closed to within four at 78-74 approaching the final two minutes.

Bristol held firm and five straight points from Daniel Edozie helped ice the game, despite a 24-point effort from Earl Brown.

Cheshire can no longer qualify for the Play-Offs, but will be out for revenge when they host Bristol on Sunday.
