Louis Sayers departs Phoenix

by Vlad Ionasc

Cheshire Phoenix can today confirm that shooting-guard Louis Sayers will not return to the club next season.

Sayers departs after two brilliant years in Ellesmere Port, time in which he proved himself to be a first-class professional on and off the court. Sayers’ unabating drive to improve his game and intense dedication to the Phoenix organisation quickly turned him into a fan-favourite at the EPSV.

The 6’6 guard hailing from Peterborough joined the Phoenix prior to the start of the 2018-19 season and appeared in 67 games (31 starts) in all competitions. Sayers averaged 8.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in his two years at the club.

In his final message to the fans, Sayers said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time in Cheshire, and I appreciate the opportunity you guys gave me over the last two seasons and everything you and the club have done for me off the court too!”

We wish Louis every success in the next step of his career.
