Cheshire Phoenix are delighted to announce the signing of American shooting-guard Devin Mitchell.

Mitchell was born in Georgia, USA and played for the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia State Panthers in NCAA Division 1. The 6’4 guard represented Alabama in his freshman year before transferring to Georgia State for the remaining three years of his collegiate career.

The 24-year-old sharpshooter accumulated 95 appearances (58 starts) during his time at Georgia State. He was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week once and also made the All-Sun Belt Third Team in his junior year.

In his senior year Mitchell averaged 12.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from 3-point range.

“I chose to sign with Cheshire because of the conversations I had with Coach Ben and James. I think we were all on the same page about what I can bring to the table to go along with the other signees. I think it’s going to be a perfect fit.”

“This season we wanted to make sure we found an elite shooter and that’s exactly what we have with Devin. Not many players shoot over 43% over two seasons and even fewer shoot that percentage whilst shooting as much as he did.

As well as being an elite shooter Devin also has the ability to run our offence and play as a PG when needed. Again this versatility will be huge for us. After missing last season I know how much he is looking forward to getting on the floor and proving exactly what he can do for himself and our club.”
