CHESHIRE PHOENIX is delighted to announce that point-guard Disraeli “Dizzie” Lufadeju has re-signed with the club for the 2020/2021 season.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a successful second season with Phoenix, featuring in 13 of the sides’ matches (four starts).
Lufadeju averaged 6.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game during the 19/20 season, which was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The British-American, who is no stranger to the BBL having spent three seasons playing for Worcester Wolves (featuring 67 times) prior to joining the Nix, has also activated an extension in his contract which will see him stay at the club for a further year.
A popular figure with our young fans, Dizzie will take on a more prominent role in the community, spearheading all the clubs’ community initiatives throughout the North West.

Disraeli Lufadeju
“I’m really excited to be signing again with Cheshire Phoenix because I feel like I have started to establish myself a little bit more in the league and I’m very comfortable here.
I know what to expect and since I’ve been here I have progressed as a player, so I am excited to progress even more and hopefully win some silverware.”
Coach Thomas
“I’m really happy to have Dizzie back with us, he has improved a lot over the last couple of seasons and we know there is much more to come.
“His work rate during games is always really good but it is away from the games when you really see how much he wants to perform for the team.
“I know this is what has made him a fan favourite over the last couple of seasons and we are expecting much of the same next season.”
