Kyle Carey returns to the EPSV

Cheshire Phoenix is absolutely thrilled to announce the return of fan-favourite Kyle Carey.

Kyle joined the club at the end of December during the 2020/21 season, having been part of the London City Royals roster the previous campaign.

The 6’6 forward – who represented Great Britain at U20 level – proved to be a pivotal player in the Phoenix’s playoff push last season and was voted the fans’ favourite player of the year.

Carey averaged 7.5 points-per-game and 3.2 rebounds-per-game in his four months at the club.

Head Coach, Ben Thomas, had this to say on his return:

“Kyle did a really good job last season, when he came in, he changed the way the team played, especially defensively with his aggression and his willingness to compete.

“We want guys like that here. Players who leave it all out there night in, night out. I think he learnt a lot last season about himself and what he can offer us. He is another exciting GB player who has a really bright future ahead of him.

“I’m looking forward to working with him again!”

Kyle Carey also expressed his delight about his return:

“I am happy to be signing back with the Phoenix. I am looking forward to finally meeting the fans next season and to build on my performances from last season.

“My boy Jules [Dang-Akodo] signed recently too, so I’m excited to get this thing going.”
