Cheshire Phoenix point-guard Teddy Okereafor and shooting-guard Ben Mockford have been named in the 24-man Great Britain squad for the first window of the FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers.
GB will take on Greece at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle on 25 November and Turkey at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul on 28 November.
Okereafor will set a new British Basketball record for most consecutive internationals played if he is selected for the first game against Greece. Our point-guard tied the current record of 49, which was held by Bill McInnes since 1976, in February against France. Mockford could increase his overall caps for GB to 45 if he is selected to play in both fixtures.
