Robbie Returns!

We are pleased to announce that Robbie Graham will continue with the Phoenix for the 2022/23 season.

A product of the Cheshire Phoenix Junior programme, Robbie first appeared with the pro team during the 2020/21 covid year and then went on to have a break out year last season quickly becoming a fan favourite within the community and at EPSV.

This summer Robbie has represented the Ireland U20’s national team in Georgia at the FIBA U20 European Championships where they  finished with the second best record of the tournament at 5-1.

Along side his playing duties, Robbie will continue to represent the club as of the clubs community coaches, delivering after school clubs, primary school sessions and the clubs flagship Hoops4Health programme.

Robbie has been a feature on ITV and the club social media talking about his inspirational story of growing up with a hearing impairment and the barriers he has faced throughout his life on and off the court. He continues to be a role model to the basketball and wider community.

Ben Thomas

“Over the last 18 months Robbie has improved a lot and really is a valuable member of our team. He brings a lot of energy to practice every single day and makes others around him do the same.

I’m looking forward to seeing him improve again this season and keep being a role model to all of our junior players.

I know Robbie has proved himself whenever he gets a chance on the court and hopefully with his hard work that he carries on doing that this year.”

““I’m really happy to be returning again this year to my home club, we have a great fan base, the support they give to the club is exceptional and we have a talented squad so far.  I can’t wait for the season to start, it will be exciting to learn off all the new players coming in with all the experience they have.  Thank you Ben and James for this opportunity once again”
