Cam Christon join’s Phoenix!

After four years with the Grambling State Tigers, Cam Christon signs with the Cheshire Phoenix as he takes his first steps in to professional basketball.

The Texas born guard won Southwestern Athletic Conference player of the year this season following a successful year with the Tigers. This led to him playing the HBCU All-Star Game this year.

Christon spearheaded his team to a 24-9 record on the season, helping them finish 1st in their conference, leading the team in scoring.

His ability to shoot comfortably from three-point range and drive hard to the basket makes him a tenacious all-round threat to opponents.

Ben Thomas

“Cam is coming off a great year after winning his conference championship and conference player of the year, and we look forward carrying on his development here at the Nix. Cam is one of these players who really cares about winning and will do whatever the team needs to get the win. We know he is capable of playing as both a Guard and a Forward which is something we will really use this season. I know he is really locked in about taking the next step as a pro and we are excited to have him here.”

Donte Jackson, Christon’s head coach at the Tigers, said:

“He’s a leader on and off the court. I want all our guys to be a Cam Christon, a guy who don’t complain and just find a way to win”.
