Mark Rangeley and Dan Rudd join for the 23/24 season

We are pleased to announce the additions of Mark Rangeley as the clubs new assistant coach and Dan Rudd will join the BBL Squad for the first time having played for the clubs junior programme over the past 2 seasons. 

Mark Rangeley played for the Phoenix during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 season and brings BBL and Division one playing experience to the club. 

On joining the club as new Assistant Coach Mark commented 

“I’m really excited to be joining the coaching staff at Cheshire. It was a natural progression for me once I stopped playing to move into coaching and Cheshire was the perfect opportunity for me. I love the club, it’s values and the atmosphere we create here and I look forward to working with both Ben and the other staff to create a special year this year.”

“It is great to have Mark join the coaching staff for this season, we really enjoyed working with Mark when he played for the club previously and knew he had coaching qualities and aspirations for the future so it is a great fit for both myself and Mark.”

Dan has played for the clubs U18 junior programme over the past two years and was a part of this summers club trip to Uganda. He joins the BBL squad to gain an invaluable basketball experience having just competed his A Levels and gaining a university place. 

Dan Rudd commented on joining the BBL team 

“I appreciate this exciting opportunity to be apart of the Cheshire Phoenix and be coached by Ben Thomas and play with the best basketball players in the country. I’m looking forward to contributing towards the teams success and putting a smile on the Phoenix fans faces”

“It is good to have junior players step up to the pro team trainings and come through the programme, it will be a challenging year but good experience for him to be around high level pro players at such a young age”
