Cheshire send Bristol flying home in 23-point win.

By Elliot Turner-Campbell

Cheshire Phoenix extended their win streak to three after overcoming the Bristol Flyers on Saturday night at the Cheshire Oaks Arena.

It was a huge night for Cheshire captain Maceo Jack who dropped 27 points for the home side, 12 clear of anyone else on the court.

Not only was Jack proving difficult to stop, Phoenix also hit 12 three pointers in the game, seven more than their opponents, proving handy from beyond the arc.

The American is in a hot run of form, as he sunk 22 points in Cheshire’s last game against the Plymouth City Patriots, and he’s doing it in style, whether it’s from deep or a nasty dunk.

David Ulph also had an impressive night for Nix, claiming the title of ‘Ulph-meister’ from the fans, after some great hustle plays from the number 10.

It all started in the first quarter for the Nix, who created a 13-point lead after the opening 10 minutes.

Up 55-24 at halftime, the Nix made sure Bristol couldn’t get near them, not going behind in the game once.

After the break, the Flyers defence forced multiple turnovers in the third quarter from the Phoenix, causing a few fastbreak points for the away side. The Flyers purple patch led them to win the quarter 23-18.

However, it wasn’t enough to stop the home side, as they led 96-73 when the final buzzer sounded, claiming all the points.

Cheshire Phoenix will be looking to keep this run going when they face Plymouth City Patriots away on Friday night.
