Hudson to join Phoenix Coaching staff ahead of the 24/25 season.

Jack Hudson will swap the court for the sideline after a 12 year stint a pro player in the UK.

Jack has represented Mersey Tigers, Manchester Giants and Cheshire Phoenix across his playing career, and will now hang up his boots and transition to an Assistant Coach role at the Phoenix for the 2024/25 season.

Jack said “ I have been fortunate enough to play basketball whilst working full time as a lawyer.  This means that it has always been challenging to put the necessary time into my game. As the level of the league continues to grow, I am unable to dedicate the time required to play at the level that I expect from myself.

James and Ben presented an exciting opportunity for me to transition onto the coaching staff, which I could not refuse.  I am extremely grateful to them both and look forward to building on the success of last season.”

The coaching line up will consist of Head Coach Ben Thomas, to be assisted by James Brice, Tom Fletcher and Jack Hudson.

Head Coach Ben Thomas  said  “ Over the last couple of years Jack has proved to be such an important part of our team. Both as a player and a person. He’s great for the culture of the club and fully understands what we are trying to do here.  Jack is someone who I regularly lean on for feedback about certain on court situations and this past season his input really helped us win games.

Having someone who has played for us and played the right way with a team first mentality, now step up into a coaching position, I know the players will have the respect he deserves.  I’m looking forward to working with Jack and watching him continue to add value to our club.”
