Hailing from Harlem, New York, Jaylen Searles brings versatile length, athletic rebounding, and defensive toughness to the Phoenix frontcourt. Searles developed his game through the US college ranks, starting at Central Wyoming College before earning NJCAA All-American and First Team All-Region honours at Southeastern Community College. He then made the transition to NCAA Division I at Utah Tech University, where he established himself as a complete two-way threat. In his junior season with the Trailblazers, Searles ranked among the team’s leading scorers (10.1 ppg) and rebounders, highlighted by a career-high 33-point explosion against California Baptist that earned him WAC Player of the Week accolades. With his ability to guard multiple positions and stretch the floor, Searles brings elite athleticism to the Nix rotation.
