NBL Player Of The Year Aaron Rai joins the Nix’

We are delighted to announce the signing of NBL Division 1 Wilson Player Of The Year Aaryn Rai.

The 6’6 forward joins the club after a dominant season for Hemel Storm who went the full season unbeaten, with a 26-0 record winning every trophy available to them last season.

The talented forward closed with regular-season stats of 24.0PPG, 10.8RPG, 5.5APG, also shooting a solid 64.5% from the floor and 45.9% from long range. Rai led the NBL D1 in efficiency and rebounding, placing second for scoring and fifth for assists per outing, earning him the right to be named the Player of the year.

Head Coach Ben Thomas

“We started following Aaryn’s performances early last season, it become clear that he was one of the top players in NBL Division 1 and that he previously had a really good college career at Dartmouth.

We made him one of our top targets and really believe that he can become a very good player in the BBL. His versatility and creativity are two of his best characteristics but is matched by his work rate and high basketball IQ.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Aaryn make the step up to the BBL and getting the chance to work with him next season.”

“Really excited to sign with such a great community club like Cheshire. Looking forward to contributing to wins and hopefully silverware next season!”
